Declaration on Italy and Spain

Proposal Presented to Foreign Ministers July 20, 19451

In the statement on the policy toward Italy introduced by the President on July 172 we propose that there be included a statement to the effect that the Three Heads of Government will support the entry of Italy into the United Nations Organization.

The Three Heads of Government further declare that they will not support the entry of Spain into the United Nations Organization, so long as Spain is under the control of the present regime in that country.
