Brown’s diary entry for July 30, however, contains the following reference to it: “… Met with communiqué committee after Foreign Ministers, British and Soviets seemed to like draft. Foote and I had prepared it. All of it had previously been submitted to British. …”

3Sobolev and Golunsky were the Soviet members of this subcommittee (see ante, p. 399), but it is not known who represented the Soviet Union at this meeting.
