From the Generalissimo to his Excellency President Roosevelt.

I am in receipt of your telegrams transmitted to me by General Hearn on October 28th2 and 29th3 and November 1st.4 I am delighted to accept the suggestions contained in your last telegram and am looking forward to meeting you and Mr. Churchill. Everything will be kept strictly secret here….

  1. Apparently sent to Washington via military channels, and forwarded by the White House Map Room to Roosevelt at Hyde Park.

  3. Dated October 27, 1943. It concerned the signing of the Four-Nation Declaration on General Security at the Moscow Conference of Foreign Ministers.
