Sir: I have received Mr. King’s dispatch, No. 318, of the 6th ultimo, relative to the case of Dr. Herrick, and have to approve the charge’s note to the Porte of that date, renewing his request that instructions may be addressed to the governor-general to prevent future interference with the religious services of Dr. Herrick at Kastamouni.
