The Secretary of State to the Ambassador to the Greek Government in Exile (Kirk), at Cairo
Greek Series No. 5. Your 10, July 3, 6 p.m. and 11, July 3, 7 p.m. In response to Mr. Tsouderos’ request, I was glad to make the following comment on the King’s radio address in reply to a question from the press this morning:
“I welcome these declarations of His Majesty the King of the Hellenes. They constitute a reaffirmation of the devotion of the Greek Government to the ideals of democracy and a reassurance to the Greek people that they shall enjoy the full exercise of the sovereign rights of [Page 136] which they have proven themselves so worthy by their heroic resistance to Axis aggression.”
