Instead of receiving any reply from Foreign Office to my notes sent as per your No. 252, September 22, 9 p.m., and No. 267, October 1, 7 p.m., the papers to-day announced as reported in official circles that they are going to ask the American Government if order for withdrawal from Vera Cruz is still in force and if so to fix a date on which evacuation will take place.
