Your telegram of November 14, 10 p.m. Popular vote Jiménez 40,076; Vasquez Vidal 39,632; votes electoral college Jiménez 300 out of 632. For Jiménez seven provinces out of twelve; Senators 7; Deputies 14. [Báez] has often expressed his satisfaction with elections and while he is surrounded by people who are urging him to stay in power will resign if United States takes firm stand. Have secured signed confidential letter from Jiménez, Velásquez thoroughly satisfactory as to financial control.
