The Department of State to the British Embassy.

The Department of State has the honor to acknowledge the receipt of the note, dated the 28th ultimo, from His Britannic Majesty’s Embassy, stating that, in compliance with the Department’s request, Sir Edward Grey has directed Sir Lionel Carden to instruct the British consular officers at Frontera, La Paz, Ensenada, Colima, Salina Gruz and Acapulco to take charge of American interests in the absence of French consular officers in those places.
