Excellency: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your excellency’s note of January 25, 1915, in which you ask the Department to inform you [etc.]
In reply I have the honor to inform your excellency that the Department appears to have no information regarding the reported seizure of the rifles and ammunition mentioned. However, a telegram has been sent to the American Consul at Vera Cruz to report [Page 1059] on the matter, and when his report is received you will be promptly informed.
