No reply received to our January 13, but Department this morning has memorandum from Chinese Legation saying the Foreign Office has cabled instructions for the Legation to receive the balance due in same manner as in August. Department accordingly will remit check for balance to Chinese Legation tomorrow. Please advise Foreign Office immediately.
