748. Secretary of the Navy has advised flag officer at Hampton Roads to proceed with least possible delay to Tampico with all available ships, including the Michigan, Louisiana, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Arkansas, Vermont, New Jersey, Tacoma, Nashville and Hancock. The latter will carry the first regiment of expeditionary force of marines.
This information was given to the press by the Secretary of the Navy about two o’clock this afternoon.
