Port au Prince, January 30, 1914.
City quiet as a result of landing of marines and seamen. The South Carolina and Montana jointly have about 120 men ashore. Germans have 70 men ashore, and the British cruiser will land men on her arrival to-day. French war vessel is on the way here from Mexico. Presence of foreign war vessels and the landing of marines promises to accomplish the peaceful choice of a President, which seemed to be impossible a few days ago.
