Sir: The Department has received your telegram of October 4 concerning the status of the Cuban Amnesty Bill, in which you refer to the Department’s recent telegraphic instructions.

In reply the Department desires to say that it is glad to know that the President of Cuba has given assurances that he will veto the Amnesty Bill.
