Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt, in due course, of the Ambassador’s note of the 20th ultimo, with which was enclosed a copy of a communication addressed to him by two French priests and a Spanish priest, giving an account of the treatment accorded to them by the Mexican authorities at Saltillo and furnishing much information as to general conditions in Mexico.
The Department is extremely grateful to the Ambassador for having furnished it with this information.
