Your April 8. You may inform the Spanish Government that this Government is doing everything within the scope of its powers for the protection of Spanish subjects and their properties in Mexico. A telegram from the Consular Agent at Juarez states that General Carranza has given out statement to the effect that property of Spaniards expelled from Torreon will not be confiscated.

Everything possible is being done to induce Carranza to revoke the order of expulsion. Hereafter you will be kept fully informed by mail.
