The Governor of the State of Colima called a meeting of residents of Colima on the seventeenth instant demanding that 100,000 pesos be furnished at once saying if not furnished voluntarily he would collect by some means. Demonstration caused by the demand, opposition and uprising probable. Representatives of American companies and interests request information as to whether they shall contribute or refuse to contribute. Embassy advised.
