Mr. de Giers to Mr. Stoughton.

Sir: Referring to the note of the legation of the United States of America of June 24 (July 6), relative to the meeting of a conference to study the question of the bimetallic or single monetary standard, I have the honor to inform you that it is the Privy Councilor of State de Thoerner who has been named delegate of the imperial government to take part in the deliberations on this matter which will take place in Paris July 29 (August 10) of the present year.
