Embassy’s 104, January 10, 3 p.m.5 While I was with Velloso this morning Souza Costa telephoned to inform him that he will modify the import control order in accordance with the Department’s desire that it be considered as a temporary war measure. Furthermore that he has reduced the list as reported in the Embassy’s telegram 4574, December 29, 8 p.m.6 He indicated that the order would be put into effect shortly.
