3241. Yesterday Olano authorized Embassy investigate records at [Química] Schering, Wayss and Freytag and Siemens group. In conversation with Embassy officer it was felt that Olano is aware of real purpose investigation and that he had no objections providing that Embassy investigating officers proceed with discretion and minimum fanfare. Other Junta officials and Government delegate-managers in controlled Axis firms continue to offer assistance and cooperation to Embassy investigating group.
