Your Secdel 106, September 24.45 If you are approached further by the Zionists I suggest that you say you have not been in communication or participated in any negotiations with the British Government about Palestine, that they were right in believing that the President had written Prime Minister Attlee about Palestine but that you did not know whether or not Mr. Attlee had replied or what the nature of the reply might be. It might be added that information [Page 749] on the subject of that correspondence could be obtained only from the President or Mr. Attlee.
