Planning Date for the End of the War Against Japan
- 1.
- The British Chiefs of Staff feel that it is important that the
Combined Chiefs of Staff should agree and promulgate a planning
date for the end of the war against Japan. The following
planning must be related to an estimated date for the end of the
war against Japan:—
- a.
- The redeployment of forces against Japan.
- b.
- The planning of production.
- c.
- The allocation of manpower.
- 2.
- The British Chiefs of Staff recommend that, in order to make due allowance for contingencies, the Combined Chiefs of Staff should accept as a planning date two years after the defeat of Germany.
