[The precedent established in this case was followed in several other incidents involving American airmen who landed in Spanish-controlled territory.
[Page 733]In telegram No. W–3, March 13, 1943, 9 p.m., the Ambassador in Spain reported that through the intermediary of the Spanish Foreign Office the Embassy had been able to secure the return intact and uncompromised of a secret bombsight from a bomber which had made a forced landing in the Spanish Zone of Morocco.
