Briefly confirming our telephone conversation.2

External Affairs advises that it is proposed to inform the press confidentially and under strict censorship next Monday evening3 that an announcement will be made in Quebec on Tuesday evening regarding a meeting which will be held there between Prime Ministers Churchill and King.

The text of the announcement is as follows:

External Affairs asks official U.S. approval (presumably White House) of the text of this announcement and whether we have any comment to make on the general schedule set forth herein.
