23. At the close of the conference on the 16th instant the British and Italian Prime Ministers, accompanied by Mr. Balfour and [Page 168] Signor Bissolati,1 adjourned to the Foreign Office where they were met by the Italian Ambassador in London. At this conference article 15 of the secret treaty between Great Britain and Italy was discussed, I was informed.
