Sir: Referring to previous correspondence concerning the desire of the State of Virginia to present to the British Government a replica of Houdon’s statue of Washington, with special reference to your letter of March 26, 1914, I have the honor to enclose a copy of a despatch on the subject from the American Ambassador at London, covering a copy of a note from the Foreign Office making formal acceptance of this gift.
