Your telegram of May 26. I called upon Minister for Foreign Affairs to-day with the Argentine and Brazilian Ministers and informed him the United States recognizes the Government of Peru. Argentina and Brazil recognized at same time. Joint action was appreciated. Chile has no representative here. News of proposed recognition was telegraphed from Chile, appearing in this morning’s papers. /
