The Panama Railroad Company to the Minister of Panama.
Dear Sir: We acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 20th instant requesting the approval of this Company under Article II of the Contract of 1867 between the Panama Railroad Co. and the United States of Colombia to the construction by the Government of the Republic of Panama of a railroad in the Province of Chiriquí and another in the Province of Los Santos.
We take pleasure in advising that at a meeting of the board of directors of our Company held on the 25th instant, the following resolution was unanimously adopted:
Resolved that the Panama Railroad Company hereby consents to the construction by the Government of the Republic of Panama of the following lines of railroad:
One in the Province of Chiriquí, from the port of Pedregal to Boquete, 28 miles, with a branch to La Concepción, 23 miles.
One in the Province of Los Santos, from the port of Mensabe to the town of Macaracas.
