My Dear Mr. Minister: Referring to our conversation of to-day in regard to obtaining from Brown Brothers & Company and Seligman & Company of New York, fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the use of your Government, I would advise you that I have informed these bankers of the contents of the memorandum which you left with me this morning, and of Mr. Bryan’s autographic statement endorsed thereon. I enclose a copy of this paper for your use.
