Nuevo Laredo, January 26, 1914.

One hour ago Samuel Cantu, former Mayor of Lampasos, Mexico, was enticed to the middle of the international bridge, seized on the American side of the boundary by two Mexican officers, dragged across the boundary and thrown into prison. It is said that he will be shot to-morrow morning. I have already made a protest to the General.
