Mr. Secretary: I have the honor to inform your excellency that my Government, to which I forwarded in due time the contents of your excellency’s note of February 19th last115 relative to the murder of the Spanish subjects Gonzalez brothers at Chihuahua, instructs me to express its thanks for the attitude of the United States in the case and, at the same time, to say to your excellency that it cherishes the hope that your excellency will insist by all means at your disposal that a thorough investigation of the facts be made by the Constitutionalist authorities.
