Tampico, July 27, 1914.

Decrees No. 30 and 31 dated Monterey July 20 have just been published in Tampico. These decrees provide for increase in oil production tax from twenty cents Mexican gold per ton to sixty cents Mexican gold per ton, or payable in New York exchange at rate of two for one. Referring all recent correspondence and telegrams re oil industry, this is a serious increase in taxation especially taking into consideration low price crude oil in States.
