The Secretary of State to Consul General Hanna.
[Telegram—Extract.]
Department of State,
Washington, April 27, 1914.
Washington, April 27, 1914.
The Department regrets profoundly your arrest by the Federal authorities and the indignities to which you were subjected at their hands; and rejoices that you escaped without physical injury. It sympathizes with you in the humiliation which you feel at the outrage suffered by you as the representative of your Government; question of redress will have due consideration.
