Sir: Referring to your No. 249, of June 1 last, I have to say that the Department would be glad to receive a complete copy of the Brazilian law No. 641, of November 14, 1899, article 45, paragraph 2 of which is understood to prohibit the importation of articles of foreign manufacture bearing labels wholly or partly in Portuguese, unless imported from Portugal.
