The United States Congress authorized the transfer of two destroyer escorts to Uruguay under Public Law 146, approved September 15, 1951; for text, see 65 Stat. 322. The sale of the ships was effected on November 15. Pertinent documents are in Department of State decimal file 733.5-MAP.
