The Acting Secretary of State to the Ambassador in Iran ( Murray )

371. Information contained in urtel 492, July 1470 (repeated to Moscow as 159), of interest. Please continue to keep us informed of developments and of any other Soviet propaganda in Iran relating to [Page 389] the United States which may come to your attention. In our opinion it would serve no useful purpose for the matter to be taken up at this time in Iran. We are however suggesting to Ambassador Harriman71 that he may be able to use it during conversations which he may have in Moscow on the subject of American-Soviet relations.
