571. ReEmb’s 472, April 7. The Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs33 informed me this morning that there has been as yet no reaction [Page 1233] from the Russian side to the Turkish note to the Soviet Ambassador here concerning the proposed discussions to revise the Turkish-Soviet treaty of friendship and neutrality. The Minister stated that he did not expect any Soviet proposal until after Molotov’s return from San Francisco.
