You should inform King Ibn Saud that we acknowledge receipt of his two notes with appreciation and inform him that this Govt is deeply concerned at recent developments in the Levant States. You may add that it is endeavoring to prevail upon all parties involved to pursue policies which would [Page 1110] be in harmony with the principles adhered to by the United Nations and which would enable them to come to an equitable and friendly agreement.
