Roosevelt Papers
The Chinese Minister of Finance (Kung) to President Roosevelt
My Dear Mr. President: I am in Washington for a few days, and would have availed myself of another visit with you if not because I realise how crowded your schedule must have been at this time.
I understand you are leaving shortly for Canada to confer with Mr. Churchill. If in the course of your discussions with the Prime Minister you wish me to transmit any message to the Generalissimo1 or have a personal consultation with me in connection with any problem concerning China, I venture to assure you that I shall be at your service at all times.
With high esteem and best regards,
I am, Mr. President,
Yours sincerely,
- Chiang Kai-shek.↩
