From the President to Colonel Warden, Personal and Secret. Number 347. I hope you have seen Uncle Joe’s new message2 which is [Page 1179] greatly improved in its tone. As you and he know, I am lost until Monday and I would let a few days go by till we answer him.

However, my first feeling is that he has come around to our secondary meeting and that it should be held very soon.

  1. Sent via the White House Map Room and the British Admiralty Delegation at Washington. Churchill was in Canada at this time.
