“Before dinner sold Bracken a bill of goods for Steve Early—that the President and Prime Minister should have a joint Press conference, which Bracken had evidently been opposing with a view to substituting a cocktail party in which newspaper men could mingle with all the Chiefs of Staff.” (Harriman Papers)
