2212. My 2210.1 Offensive which starts today is undertaken in consequence of pressure brought to bear on commanding general from outside and for common good and I believe contrary to his military opinion. I hope therefore that, should it not succeed, troops will be sent here immediately as otherwise consequences may be serious.
