The Acting Secretary of State to the Mexican Ambassador

My Dear Mr. Ambassador: I am in receipt of your note of July 7, 1917, in which you quote a note from the Mexican Foreign Office, requesting that permission be given for the exportation from the United States to Mexico of the following munitions of war:

  • 2,000,000 seven-millimeter cartridges and 133,000 30 x 30 cartridges, via Laredo, Texas.
  • 450,000 30 X 30 cartridges, via Eagle Pass, Texas.
  • 150,000 30 X 30 cartridges, via El Paso, Texas.

In reply I am pleased to inform you that the Government of the United States has authorized the exportation of the three shipments in question.
