Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 30th ultimo, protesting against the alleged discrimination against Japanese subjects in San Francisco in the enforcement of the measures adopted to prevent the spread of bubonic plague.

In reply, I beg to inform you that a copy of your note has been sent to the Secretary of theTreasuiy for his information and consideration.
