Legation of the Argentine Republic,
Washington, June 18, 1900.

Mr. Secretary of State: I have the honor to lay before your excellency, for such use as may be proper, the information that the Argentine school-ship Presidente Sdrmiento is to arrive shortly in the port of New York and wishes to present her corps of officers to the Most Excellent President of the United States of America and your excellency, and to the Secretary of the Navy, as I had the honor orally to inform your excellency.
