The Consul General at Peiping (Clubb) to the Secretary of State

94. Cheng Ting-feng, Commander 94th Division, and number other important officials including BIS13 men departed Peiping approximately 4:80 p. m. by plane, Cheng stating his departure removed last obstacle turnover Peiping.

Foreign Office official informed me (presumably after attending Fu Tso-yi14 meeting, Contel 4115) that political turnover occurred 10 a. m. this morning, that Fu remains temporarily in charge Peiping, that troops will be removed from Peiping gradually beginning tomorrow. Last information in accordance with statement Gen. Cheng that political agreement effective today, military agreement tomorrow.

Cavalry division by report proceeded Fengtai and 271st and the 73rd Divisions 101st Army to Huangtsun, both south Peiping today.

Communist Political Commission reportedly already present in town.
