The Minister in Iran (Dreyfus) to the Secretary of State

85. Reference to my 61 of March 11, 5 p.m., the Prime Minister informs me the Cabinet at last night’s meeting formally agreed to expel the Japanese Legation. Japanese Minister will be informed of this action within next few days.

Referring to Department’s 66, March 13, 6 p.m.86 and my 84,87 Prime Minister feels it would strengthen his hand in explaining this action to Majlis if he could announce some concrete indications of American economic assistance particularly if he could make public the extension of Lend-Lease aid to Iran.88
