The Secretary of State to the Chargé in the United Kingdom (Atherton)
Washington, February 15, 1936—1 p.m.
55. Your despatch No. 1933, January 27. Draft Convention approved. Advise whether full powers will be forwarded soon so convention can be sent to Senate during present session.
Inquire whether Foreign Office agrees with the Department that notices of adherence given by the two Governments under the Convention of 1899 as supplemented by the Convention of 190284 will remain unaffected by the coming into operation of the present Convention.
