The following message is sent for the President. “All kinds of wild reports here about stabilization at some fixed rate, some reports saying around 4 dollars and other reports at other rates. I feel sure all these reports are not founded in any fact. Of course any proposal must in any event come here for approval or disapproval by Treasury Department and me.”
