The Ambassador in Poland (Cudahy) to the Secretary of State

57. Department’s circular telegram October 14, 10 a.m. Attitude of Polish Government undisturbed awaiting expected developments prior to German election. No action by Poland indicated. The press indicates no great emotion, enjoins restraint awaiting events following Germany’s decision. Count Szembek, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, informed me that he had conferred with Pilsudski2 and Prime Minister3 and that no action is contemplated pending developments. Foreign Minister expected from Geneva 20th, after interviewing him will report to the Department.
