Washington , June 24, 1931.

Sir: The receipt is acknowledged of your note of June 16, 1931,¹⁶ with further reference to the unfortunate shooting at Ardmore, Oklahoma, of the young Mexican students, Emilio Cortés Rubio and Manuel García Gómez. You inform the Department that the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Mexico considers it desirable that the necessary investigations be continued by the Governor of the State of Oklahoma.

According to the Department’s information, the authorities of the State of Oklahoma are pursuing the investigation of this case with all due despatch required by law.
